I AM OFFERING PRACTICAL WORKSHOPS BASED AROUND THE IDEAS IN MY SET OF BOOKS
A chance to "open windows" on a more creative approach to working with young children and to dispel some of the obstacles which get in the way. These workshops will help develop Life Skills for interacting with anyone of any age. Devised for Teachers, Home-School facilitators, Parents and any Childcare Professional . All the activities can be adapted for using with children.
In this one or two day session rich with activities and discussion, we will find inspiration in the following:
- the value of creative learning with limbering up activities to help release the imagination
- some reference to the Reggio Emilia approach to Early Years education including activities to help understand "the Hundred Languages" that children use to define their world and to encourage the use of these languages with practice in the skilful use of “open-ended” questions.
- the precept commonly held in Early Years education that "the process" and the "end product" have equal value. Here the activity will be particularly tailored to encourage a collaborative project between adult and child on equal terms. This can be useful in both future Staff Development and also for Parent's Evenings as a way of expressing the ethos of your school or setting.
Workshops £300 per day including some materials. Travel and overnight stay if necessary are extra.
